This game has been on my review list for a long time now, and today I finally got the chance to write an extended review about the game and it’s content. Everlands is a turn-based Android game where you control a group of “Good” animals and fight against the forces of “Evil” animals, however, You don’t have to slay those “Evil” animals and there are many ways to convert them to “Good” and obedient animals but beware of losing your Good animals to the forces of evil.
The gameplay is simple strategy but requires your attention and brain to master the game. Each animal possesses three qualities, Health, which shows how much damage it can take, Strength, Amount of damage it inflicts when attacking/defending and is only able to attack selected number of hex spaces (differs for each animal). Each animal also possesses special abilities which can prove to be game-winners if used at the correct timing. The main Goal of the game is to control more than 50% of the area when the game is over. You have up to 20 different missions against the computer AI while you can also play against other players in Hot-seat mode (that is more fun).
Unlike most android games Everlands has a nice and simple tutorial that will teach you the basics of the game. Graphics include hexagonal tile grids with a different design for each new scenario. The whole control, system is based on the touchscreen you have to touch the specific animal tile situated at the bottom of screen then touch the spot where you want to place it (Don’t worry if you place it in the wrong place because “Make my move” button won’t let it happen until you press it).
Sounds are pretty interesting with a soothing and calm intro tune along with specific sounds for each selection. There are also social features integrated in the game where you can share your scores and other achievements on Facebook, Invite your friends on Facebook and more.
